The Birkenhead Tavern - Tavern Bar

The Birkenhead Tavern has that warm and friendly atmosphere where all members of the family can enjoy lunch or dinner at reasonable prices from the hotel’s extensive menu in the Front Bar.

The Tavern bar offers Foxtel and Keno, large screen plasma TV, TAB facilities and a bank of televisions devoted to teletext, to keep any punter up to date with the latest happenings in the world of racing and TAB facilities are available.

Enjoy the ever-changing view looking across the Port River to the docks
of Port Adelaide from The Birk's deck, with its continuous flow of traffic on the river, whether it's boats or dolphins, or the current re-development of the Port area itself.

As you'd expect, much has changed since The Birk opened in 1878, but it still has its local characters in the front bar, always willing to tell you a few stories, which have been handed down over the years about The Birk, the ghosts and the tunnels, which supposedly run throughout Port Adelaide.

Monday - Saturday 10am- Last Race. Sunday 10am-9pm
Sunday Breakfast at the Birk 8.30 to 11.30

Happy Hours

Monday - Friday 5.30-6.30 pm
Saturday - Sunday 11.30 am-1.30 pm

Bar Meals

Delicious counter meals are available 7 days a week, lunch and dinner with old favourites, schnitzels, steaks, burgers and more.

Monday to Friday Lunch 12.00 to 2.30 Dinner 6.00 to 9.00pm
Saturday and Sunday 12.00 to 9.00pm.
